Trustee Michael J. Ciavattone Bellwood has been my home for over 26 years. I have been married to my wife, Jeanie, for 25 wonderful years and Bellwood has been Jean’s home for 50 years. There are several organizations that I am currently affiliated with. I am a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5081 Bellwood, American Legion Post 0626, and Vietnam Veterans of America. While in Vietnam, I earned a Bronze Star. I am a member of Moose Lodge 777, Bellwood, Proviso/Leyden West Suburban N.A.A.C.P. and serve as a Neighborhood Watch Block Captain. I am also an active member of St. Simeon Church and Knights of Peter Claver Court # 365.|
During the past four years, I have enjoyed working with the citizens and community leaders of Bellwood dealing with administrative operations. In total, I have sixteen years of combined managerial experience, which have prepared me to take on the duties of a village trustee. Due to my prior management responsibilities of running a local repair center and my current supervisory position with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, I have become adept in dealing with people about business ethics, operations and customer satisfaction.
As a village trustee for Bellwood, I enjoy working with our residents, members of our community and business leaders to improve the quality of life in Bellwood. Supporting education is very important to me. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to be successful. During this new four-year term, I will continue to work as a cooperative team member with our administrative team. I have a sincere dedication to protect the health and welfare of our community. As a board member, I understand it takes a cohesive team to work together to achieve these goals. I will work diligently with the administration, residents, and businesses to help foster growth and prosperity.
As the current Committee Chairperson of Utilities along with the mayor’s office and village staff, I will work with the Street Department, Water Department and Community Services to provide the highest quality of services possible to the residents of Bellwood. I also currently hold the position of Committee Chairperson of Ad HocTraffic Safety and will continue to support our village staff to study and address any concerns with traffic safety. During my first term, I held the position of Committee Chairperson for Public Safety. Serving you as a trustee, I have learned a great deal about the details involved in village management. I will continue to work hard too effectively handle our community concerns and concentrate my efforts in all the areas I have been assigned.
I am sincerely dedicated to the citizens of Bellwood and know that it is important to be responsive to the changing needs and priorities of our community. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you. If you need my assistance, please contact me at the Village Hall at (708) 547-3500. I promise to effectively handle your concerns by being sensitive to your needs and efficiently solving problems whenever possible.
